Can Nigerian women stay married on their terms?
Can Nigerian women please stay married on their terms?
Can they please protect their interests while in that marriage?
How many Nigerian women can discuss a sensitive issue such as property ownership with their spouses?
Yet they spend the better part of their lives with a man and keep rearing children for the man.
Women are the ones who suffer themselves.
As a matter of fact, in 2016, if your name is not written on the documents to a property, you can demand that your husband writes a will if you have children for the man but fear won’t allow them tell their husbands that.
Some of these women are not even the next of kin of their husbands and they are silent about it. That is foolishness.
It is better not to have a husband than have one who doesn’t have your interest at heart but do Nigerian women think deeply about all these things?
This very sensitive issue is not something to shy about, at least, it would make you know where you stand and take steps to protect yourself either by working and building your own empire or quitting the union.
Yes! Quit all together! Nothing wrong with that because you are only postponing your doom’s day by staying married to a selfish man.
You will still suffer at the end of the day with your children, so why keep opening your vagina for the man and rearing children for him? Why did you go to school?
For the ones who contribute financially or physically (maybe by carrying gravel, sand, fetching water upandan etc) towards the building of the marital property but their full names isn’t written in black and white on the document, I think those ones must be under a spell.
Who gave birth to such women? Is it in the bid to be regarded a submissive wife or bear “Mrs” by all means? Why won’t their male counterpart cheat them? Hian!
In conclusion, a woman must make her own money, or why did she go to school? She must also protect her interest in her marriage.
….And the church say amen.
