Nigerian women, don’t get ruined in the name of love.

Don’t lie on love.

Love isn’t constant pain.

Love isn’t constant heartache.

Love isn’t constant drama.

Love isn’t competition with others.

Love isn’t fighting over your partner with others.

Love isn’t stopping your life because your partner feels threatened by your success.

Love isn’t being treated like a second class citizen.

Love isn’t constant control and abuse.

Love isn’t lying and cheating.

Love isn’t treating STDs always.

Love isn’t having black eyes.

Love is beautiful.

When you are loved, you will know.

When you are being abused, you will equally know.

Why blame love for the wickedness of others?

Love is not punishment.

When I hear people say love hurts, I just laugh at their ignorance.

It is surprising that people go into relationships expecting to be hurt.

They anticipate to be lied to, cheated on and treated less than a human being because of this mindset that love must hurt.

Love doesn’t hurt.

Rejection does hurt.

Lies hurt.

Deception hurts.

Losing yourself while loving someone hurts.

Jealousy hurts.

Losing someone you love hurts.

Being played by someone who claims to love you hurts.

Changing who you are just to please your partner hurts in the end.

Love is a beautiful feeling but people confuse lust for love.

People mistake abuse for love. People confuse being controlled with love.

People justify unhealthy behaviours with love.

Love is not bad.

It’s people who profess love without really showing it that are bad.

Love doesn’t destroy you or your life’s dreams.

Anyone who truly loves you will make it their duty to allow you grow and make progress.

In reality, love is the only thing in this world that heals the pains of false love.

It’s true love that makes you feel wonderful again.

Don’t give up on love.

Love is still a beautiful thing.

I know of a lady who dated a guy for eight years and she didn’t have peace.

He turned her into a punching bag at will.

She dare not talk back whenever he’s talking.

She must not buy anything with her money even though she works until he approves of it.

She doesn’t hang out with her friends because according to him, they teach her bad things.

The last beating landed her in the hospital for months because he broke her legs.

She still says she loves him and can’t do without him.

Many people claim abuse is love.

This is so wrong.

When I see Nigerian women lose themselves for the men they are in a relationship with, I shudder.

When did love become a game of pains, tears and sorrows?

How come these women keep putting up with these abuses?

Why are they holding on to them who treat them like trash all in the name of love?

This is not love.

Love is not wicked.

Repeat to yourselves women, love is not wicked, love is not wickedness, love is not abuse, love is not beatings, love is not unending tears.

If you don’t love yourself enough as a woman, you will attract a man who will teach you through his actions how to hate yourself and put up with abuse.

Woman,love yourself!
