Jealousy is real. It’s as real as the sky is blue and blood is red. Some people are jealous of you for reasons you can’t explain no matter how you try to understand them.
When someone keeps telling you that you are showing yourself even when you don’t give them reasons to feel that way, they are jealous of you. They feel you are better than them.
Sometimes, people jealous you not because of what you have materially, they envy how others love you and show you love. They envy the way you handle situations that would probably destroy them.
They envy you when the things they thought would break you makes you stronger, better and wiser. They can’t stand to see you holding your head up high after everything you have been through.
Some people envy you for your talent and how you are bold to use them to make the world a better place. They refuse to put theirs to use but envy you when you dare to live your dreams.
Some people envy your intelligence and how you can make things happen. They envy you because something that they couldn’t get past, you passed with flying colours.
They envy you for being yourself, for being real and for standing up for things you believe in while they continue lying to themselves.
Some people envy you for spreading love and kindness to everyone you meet. They know they can’t do that, so they begrudge you for being a loving person.
I know someone who pretends to be my friend but her envy moves her to befriend anyone she knows am close to. She slides into these people’s lives and starts trash talking me.
The funny thing is that she doesn’t care about these people but she just can’t stand my relationship with them. She pretends to be good because of what she can get from them and to feel good about her insecure self.
Whenever I hear her talk, I just laugh. She reeks of low self esteem and tries so hard to belong. Her insecurities are glaring and I just love to humour her. I allow her make a fool of herself. In her little mind, she’s competing with me.
These people are everywhere. They are closer to you than you think. They are boiling inside with envy while smiling to your face. You need to be careful about some of the people in your life.
Don’t be fooled by sweet words. Pay attention to people’s actions. Their actions expose them for who they truly are. Their words give them away too, pay attention.
As for me, I am not afraid to live my life and be true to myself, if that makes you uncomfortable, close the door on your way out. I won’t stop being me because you feel threatened.
