Through all the blows life threw, I am still standing Ex-wife of Ooni of Ife declares

Queen Zaynab, Ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi is grateful that she is still standing despite the blows life dealt her in 2017.

But last year wasn’t all that bad for the Queen. In September 2017, Queen Zaynab was awarded Humanitarian of the Year by Kechie’s Project during UN Week in New York, for her outstanding contributions to women and children across the globe.

Last year, when Queen Zaynab confirmed that her marriage to the monarch was officially over in a post she shared on Instagram, she hinted that possible domestic violence could be responsible. She went ahead to describe her relationship with the Ooni of Ife as an old chapter, and tagged her new status ‘a new chapter’ aimed at fighting boldly and fearlessly for the rights of women.

Her post the read: “What I can confirm is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love & exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence & abuse with the United Nations. No matter how much time you have invested, no matter the use of media to silence & manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!”

But this is a new year and Queen Zaynab is grateful for the lessons she learnt from 2017. In an Instagram post, Queen Zaynab said despite all the temptations and blows life threw her way in 2017, she is still standing.

In her post, Queen Zaynab said 2017 was a year of tremendous growth for her. Read her post below:

I cannot thank everyone enough who made that possible, through all the temptations and blows life threw, I am still standing! And so are a lot of you who deal with life lessons & struggles everyday. Strength and confidence are the opportunities we need to continue to move forward. We might not have it all, we might not know it all, but faith is all we need to inspire us. I thank you all for being a part of my life’s journey and as we walk into the New Year always remembering that “tomorrow is another day” & we can truly cease the moment and simply live without fear. I wish you all a prosperous new year 2018”.
