You are not truly living if you allow other people dictate how you should live your life

1

Some people allow other people’s words get to them unnecessarily.

They allow the negative words of other people take over their lives.

If someone tells them that they are not good enough, they begin to doubt themselves.

If someone tells them that their teeth are not white, they don’t smile fully again.

If someone tells them that they are not intelligent, they begin to look down on themselves.

If someone tells them that their legs are not straight, they start to hide them.

If someone tells them that they are outspoken, they begin to silence themselves.

If someone tells them that they are too ambitious for a woman, they start to suffocate their dreams.

Don’t allow other people’s negative words affect you

Many times, people change not because they want to but because they desperately want to fit in.

They want others to accept them.

They want others to love them.

They want to belong to the happening cliques.

They want to please others at their expense.

They stop being who they are just to please others.

They silence their voice just to please others.

They dumb down themselves to be accepted.

They start living fake lives just so they can fit into other people’s expectations.

But that’s not living. That’s not living your truth. Their words shouldn’t rob you of your essence.

You are not truly alive if you allow other people dictate how you should live your life.

You don’t have another life. You shouldn’t waste time trying to conform. You are unique.

You have just this one life, so why live it in the shadow of other people’s expectations?

Live your life on your own terms. You must not be loved by everyone. You are not jollof rice.

That is the best way to live this one life that you have been given.

Be yourself. Their negative words shouldn’t make you lose who you truly are.

Love yourself. Their negative words shouldn’t make you hate yourself.

Live free. Their negative words shouldn’t make you conform.

Embrace your weaknesses. Their negative words should inspire you to polish your strengths.

Laugh at your imperfections. Their taunting words should inspire you to be better.

Enjoy being you, warts and all.

That’s how to truly live your life to the full.
