“You are illiterate chickens” Ufuoma McDermott tells keyboard warriors

1

Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott is not one who minces words when it comes to issues she’s passionate about.

The actress has taken a stand against womb watchers and people who mock women get pregnant through IVF and those who had their children through Caesarean section.

Ufuoma McDermott advised women who want to enjoy the joys of motherhood not to give up on their dreams because some people think they must carry their babies themselves and give birth through vagina delivery.

In an Instagram post, Ufuoma McDermott wrote:

Ufuoma McDermott comes for ignorant Nigerians

“Do not deny yourself if you so desire the joy of motherhood. My son was born exactly 2 And half years after we got married.

I wanted to wait. My husband obliged.
When we were ready, I wanted twins.

IVF was the choice. We could afford it.
I had two embryos inserted. God decided Isio would stay.

On the 10th of October 2010 my beautiful IVF baby was delivered by C-section.

SO WHAT? This post is for all of you keyboard cowards trying to downplay and devalue the joys of a child’s arrival into a new “world” whether it’s by surrogacy, adoption, artificial insemination, donor sperm, donor egg, donor embryo, GIFT, ZIFT. You are just illiterate chickens.

And to my fine women and men out there who wish on parenthood, there are options.

Speak to your doctor and don’t let any illiterate chicken in the society stop you from pouring all that love unto a child no matter what method you decide on.

The arrival of a child heralds joy. Our society needs to wake up and appreciate the knowledge God has bestowed on doctors.

International Children’s Day was yesterday, but I choose to celebrate all our children everyday.”

I love this post and I agree with her. Nigerians should learn to allow other people do what’s best for them when it comes having children.

The fact that you find it easy to get pregnant as a woman doesn’t mean the other women who did IVF or have their children through surrogacy are inferior. You are not superior to them.

Stop telling them they are not real women because they did IVF or had their babies Caesarean section. Educate yourselves and stop sounding so ignorant.
