Kim Kardashian is studying to become a lawyer

Kim Kardashian is studying to become a lawyer. There’s no slowing down for this mother of three who is truly keeping up with living her best life.

Kim Kardashian, best known for her role in the family show, Keeping up with the Kardashians and her flamboyant Hollywood lifestyle, is trying something new: law.

According to a profile published Wednesday by Vogue, the icon has been working a four-year apprenticeship at a law firm in San Francisco, with the goal of taking the bar in 2022 and becoming a lawyer.

www.thedailybeast.com reports that the unexpected decision was prompted, Kardashian said, by her role in securing clemency for Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old woman who’d been in prison for a nonviolent drug charge since 1996, last summer.

“The White House called me to advise to help change the system of clemency,” she explained, “and I’m sitting in the Roosevelt Room with, like, a judge who had sentenced criminals and a lot of really powerful people and I just sat there, like, Oh, shit. I need to know more.

According to Kim Kardashian West, “I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society. I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more.”

38-year-old Kim Kardashian has been working with author and CNN commentator Van Jones and attorney Jessica Jackson, cofounders of #cut50, a national bipartisan advocacy group on criminal-justice reform, for months, visiting prisons, petitioning governors, and attending meetings at the White House.

The mother of three also reveals that she’s long had an interest law because her late father Robert Kardashian was a businessman and attorney who became a household name when he helped defend his friend O. J. Simpson during his murder trial in 1994.

Vogue magazine reports that sometime this summer, Kim Kardashian will take what is known as the “baby bar” administered by the state. If she passes, she will be given the okay to continue for three more years of study.

“First year of law school, you have to cover three subjects: criminal law, torts, and contracts,” Kim tells the magazine. “To me, torts is the most confusing, contracts the most boring, and crim law I can do in my sleep. Took my first test, I got a 100. Super easy for me.”

Kim Kardashian knows she will get lots of negative reactions from people about her decision to become a lawyer but she truly doesn’t care about what think about her anymore.

She said: “I don’t pay attention to that anymore. I love to be put in a situation where I can have a conversation with someone who might not be inclined to think much of me, because I can guarantee they will have a different opinion and understand what’s important to me after they’ve met me.”
