Women are not properties to be acquired

Parents who make their female children feel like properties are bad parents.

For generations, women have been treated like acquisitions passed down from one person to another.

And anytime they put up resistance about this act of possessions, they are called names, called stubborn and shamed.

Before she’s married she ‘belongs’ to her father and when she’s married she ‘belongs’ to her husband.

Any parent who tells a daughter that she must stay in a marriage especially one that is harming her simply because they want to save face in the society is evil.

I see no reason why parents should be more concerned about maintaining societal status than saving the lives of their children.

A female child is not an acquisition. She is not something to be owned. She should be allowed to live her life the way she wants it. She’s human and a delicate one too.

She doesn’t owe it to anybody to be anything, she doesn’t have to fit into your expectations or measure up to any standards you have set.

She sets her own standards. She follows her own dreams. She makes her own decisions. She should be free to live life on her own terms without people breathing down her neck about what she should do and what she shouldn’t do.

She owes it to herself alone to be successful and to make meaning out of her life. She’s not a baby to be tossed left, right and centre by people who should have no say how she lives her life.

A woman isn’t made for you. A woman was created to fulfill her own purpose. Her life is not meant to please you. Her life is meant to please her maker. Women should be left alone to live their own lives

Live your life and let her live hers!

I can’t agree with you more. I don’t understand how a mother will see her daughter with bruises and still encourage her to stay in that relationship to save face. I can’t bear it as I am. I can’t imagine anyone hurting my daughter all in the name of marriage and I will overlook it. It’s not possible!!!
