Woman, stay true to yourself.
At the end of the day, all you have is your beautiful self.
This is hard but it is the best thing you can do for yourself.
If you don’t live for yourself, what are you living for?
As a woman, you know how hard it is to enjoy your individuality.
It’s like everyone has a manual on how you should live your life.
Going contrary to these societal dictates and expectations earn you names.
People call you stubborn, angry, bitter and unsubmissive.
From childhood, you are told how to live your life so that you won’t be seen as weird. You are taught to conform to be accepted.
You are told how to talk because a woman shouldn’t talk back at a man or talk when a man is talking.
You are told how to sit like a woman so that your prospective husband won’t think you don’t have home training.
You are told when to get married because all of your mates are getting married and you shouldn’t be the odd one.
You are told when to have children because your biological clock is ticking and you must escape menopause.
You are taught and hounded on how to be a good wife because that is your greatest achievement in life.
The funny thing is that no one cares to know what you truly want for yourself. No one asks you what you truly want out of life. They just assume that you must follow the cycle.
What do you want out of life? What are you doing to achieve your dreams? Who are the people you surround yourself with? What are you learning from them? How do you intend to be true to your inner being?
Woman, live your life. You are your own greatest cheerleader. You have the right to be everything you want to be and more.
Society tells you to conform. Society tells you that you need to fit in so that you can be accepted. Society expects you to lose yourself just to please others.
Society be damned. Stay true to yourself.
