10 Signs Someone Has Narcissistic Personality Disorder

2

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, and a lack of empathy for others.

But behind this mask of extreme confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that’s vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

What are some of the biggest signs that someone has narcissistic personality disorder?

1. They lack empathy: It so crazy how they have none, zilch, zero but they want your empathy about everything and anything.

2. Projection: Once you catch on and know what’s really going on, it’s funny how they project onto you what they’re doing. If you want to know what your Narc is up to, just listen to what he accuses you of doing.

3. Lack of accountability: They don’t take accountability for anything. Absolutely nothing is their fault. It is everybody else’s fault.

4. They are selfish: Everything and I mean everything has to be done their way. Whatever it is you’re doing, as simple as moving a couch, you will pick it up, hold it and carry it their way. There is no multiple ways to do things, just one and that’s theirs.

5. They have grandiose ideas that are very unrealistic: Like hoping to be made the boss at work when they have done absolutely nothing to deserve it. They also spend their time screwing over people all day.

6. Everything is about them: They have to be the center of attention and will do whatever it takes for you to revolve everything around them. They are good at manipulating people for this to happen.

7. They create drama and slip away: They will tell you how much they love peace, hate drama and are very simple people. In reality, they feed off drama. They create so much drama that you begin to doubt your sanity

8. They appear too good to be true: If in the beginning of the relationship this person seems way too perfect…beyond that honeymoon phase adrenaline high you get when you are first with someone, take a step back. Listen to the things they tell you. Stop them at hello and say goodbye.

9. They lack respect for others: They have no respect for others space, time, property and/or no respect just being polite. They love using people. You don’t have to try to convince them to treat you right because they simply don’t care about anyone but themselves.

10. They enslave you: You will become a slave to them if you don’t get away from them on time.  They will control everything you do, say, who you hang out with, often cutting you off from outside life. You eventually become a robot and disconnected from the world.

People with narcissistic personality disorder never follow through with anything they say but they will convince you that they will “this time” so you keep believing them until you become lost.

People with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they perceive as criticism, and they can:

  • Become impatient or angry when they don’t receive special treatment
  • Have significant interpersonal problems and easily feel slighted
  • React with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make themselves appear superior
  • Have difficulty regulating emotions and behavior
  • Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change
  • Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection
  • Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation

I am glad you learnt something. Avoid whoever exhibits five or more of these traits. They are toxic for you and your self esteem.
