Dear lady, don’t ever put your life on hold waiting for a man to change or get his acts together.
You don’t need to stop living because of one man who thinks it’s your duty to babysit him as an adult. Don’t expend energy and valuable time on such a man. It’s a waste.
Do away with such mentality that you have to raise a man like a baby and mould him to your own taste. That’s pure bullshit.
A man who doesn’t know that he has to be responsible as an adult will make a bad partner and a terrible husband.
The mistake a lot of Nigerian women make is listening to old wives tales about women who suffered to raise baby men and then enjoyed with these men afterwards.
How about we do away with this sick mentality that a woman has to suffer for a man? How about we stop teaching young ladies that they have to raise men?
How about we drum it into the ears of young ladies to never put their lives on hold because they are waiting for irresponsible men to get their acts together?
How about we teach young ladies not to pause their dreams or education just to stay by the side of men who have refused to improve their lives and be responsible?
Let me say it again, ladies, don’t ever put your life on hold waiting for a man to get his shit together. You deserve better. You shouldn’t be saddled with such a fruitless responsibility.
Ladies, live your lives. Have fun. Go for that training. Take that exam. Apply for a degree. Start up a small business. Network with successful people. Learn from them. Be focused about the things you want in life.
If your paths cross with these men in the future and you are all still single, you can go out again but this time, you are wiser and you have money of your own.
You won’t be treated like crap because you depend on a man to survive. You will have your own life, your own dreams, living your own purpose and living deliberately.
Don’t put your life on hold for any man. It’s not worth it. You matter. Look out for you. Take care of yourself and protect your interest. Young lady, live!
