Craig Armstead killed a 31-year-old lady, Kerri Harris who was a coworker because she refused to date him. This guy pursued this lady for over a year, buying her gifts which she kept turning down but he refused to give up.
The young lady Kerri Harris, categorically told him the first time that she doesn’t date her coworkers but thus guy felt that pressuring her all the time would make her respond positively to his advances.
On her 30th birthday, the young man, Craig Armstead saw her wearing a beautiful stud earrings which was a gift from her mother and he bought her bigger earrings but she rejected them. He didn’t take her constant rejection well because he felt entitled to her love and attention.
One day, a female coworker invited the deceased to have a drink with her so that she would inform her about the past of the guy who has been persistently chasing her.
This coworker told her to be careful around the guy because he had been convicted of manslaughter in another state. He killed a young lady and served his sentence but his recent organization and coworkers didn’t know about his violent past.
The deceased, Kerri Harris was a determined and purpose driven young lady who just focused on doing her job well and achieving something. Before her death, she got her Masters Degree and her family was happy for her.
At work, she became afraid of the man who has been wooing her. She rejected the gift he gave her after she got her Masters. She was avoiding him as much as possible.
She confided in her elder brother and close friends about the behavior of this guy because he refused to back off. She was scared and concerned for her safety because her coworker was acting creepy towards her.
One day, her coworker discovered a hidden camera in the ladies bathroom at work. Kerri Harris felt violated and reported to human resources but Craig Armstead saw her when she was taking the video to human resources.
He was responsible for placing the camera in the ladies bathroom daily. He would put up the camera in the mornings and remove it at night to view the ladies especially Kerri Harris whom he has been wooing without results for over a year.
After the incident was reported to human resources, they called the police and investigation started. Craig Armstead became so restless and scared that his demented action would be discovered that he killed Kerri.
He walked into her office and stabbed her to death. As at the time she died, her brother felt something was wrong. He couldn’t breathe. It was raining outside and when he heard about his sister’s murder, he collapsed.
Details of Craig’s Armstead past came to light afterwards. Years earlier, he murdered his girlfriend in cold blood and pleaded insanity. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison but he served five years and was released.
After he murdered Kerri, he was sentenced to 90 years in prison. He killed this young lady with a promising life ahead of her because she refused to date him because he didn’t want her to know that he was the one who planted the camera in the ladies bathroom.
Her brother described Kerri as a light in the darkness for many people. His brother is thankful that they always end every conversation with ‘I love you.’
He wished he would have protected her and saved her from the monster that eventually took her life in a gruesome manner. He misses her and wished she was still in this world to keep him company.
Kerri’s family sued her employers for damages for hiring someone convicted of manslaughter. This is an avoidable tragedy. Men should stop feeling entitled to women’s love and attention.
Dear guys, when a woman turns down your advances, move on with your life. Don’t feel so bad and inadequate that you hurt, rape or kill her because she rejected your advances.
