Starting over in life is not easy but giving up is not an option

Yesterday, I was going through my Facebook memories and saw a post I shared from my blog’s Facebook page that was hacked last November.

My heart skipped a beat. My mood changed. I went to the page and started scrolling down to see what the hackers did with it. I started crying.

I won’t lie, I am still pained about that page. Whenever I think about how I lost 175k followers to some c.r.o.o.k e.d elements, I get sad.

Whenever I go to that page, I feel like confronting the people who did that to me and unleashing my anger on them.

The annoying thing is that they are not posting anything on the page. They just hacked it and started posting p.o.r.n on messenger and some videos on the wall once in a while.

When I remember that it took me four years to build that page, I cry. In a flash, my hardwork was gone just like that and I had to start afresh.

No matter how dogged, resilient and positive minded you are, starting over is not easy. It is not easy to watch your hardwork go down the drain just like that.

I’m still feeling down but like my daughter says, better days are ahead. I just hope I won’t have to suffer any kind of loss again. I hope all my efforts will yield positive results.

I’m putting this out there that by this time next year, I will have cause to laugh, dance and celebrate my success with my blog and other ventures.

May my dreams come true and may my heart’s desires be granted. I have learnt that life is not for the faint hearted but we continue to work and hope for the best.

The biggest thing we need to realize when we are starting over in life is that giving ourselves time to grieve, be sad and sit with our feelings is what creates lasting change for our fresh start.

My name is Kate Halim and I am unstoppable!
