BBC appoints Irene Asare as HR Director

Irene Asare, founder and CEO of CarvinClay People Development, has just been appointed the new HR director at British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)

The appointment gives the Ghanaian Human Resource (HR) expert a seat on the BBC News board.

A high-impact leader in organizational development and human resource training, Irene Asare is poised to be the first Ghanaian woman to head the role at the British Broadcasting Corporation.

This news is monumental because it vividly highlights the professional calibre and capabilities of Ghanaians both home and abroad.

A stalwart in HR, Irene Asare’s over twenty-year corporate experience has included multi-nationals such as Vodafone, Standard Bank and Tuillow Oil.

As a captain of industry, she has proven her versatility in the industries of Telecommunications, Oil and Gas, Real-Estate, Retail and Banking in Ghana and abroad.

Her exemplary leadership includes being the Chair of the Sankofa International Ladies Association, Vice-Chair of the HR Oil and Gas Leaders and also a member of the Executive Women’s Network.

In a Twitter post, Asare said she is happy and proud to join BBC.

She said her appointment was “an honour and a great opportunity to lead the HR team.”

Irene Asare has several years of experience in the HR field.

Having earned a Global Executive Master Business Administration (GEMBA), Business Administration and Management from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Irene Asare is a more than appropriate candidate for the BBC.
