The 10-year-old orphan whose madam allegedly doused with hot water mixed with pepper, before forcing her to drink the hot mixture, has suffered extensive damage to her oesophagus and stomach.
Recall that just last month, a woman named Mrs. Esther Orjiugo Zazi Kelechi David went viral after police arrested her for allegedly dousing her maid with hot water in Umuahia because she broke a plate.
The girl, an orphan named Ifunanya, was taken to the hospital where further intensive medical investigations done by a team of doctors revealed that the girl has suffered oesophageal and pyloric stenosis, meaning there has been extensive damage to her oesophagus and stomach making it difficult for food to enter her stomach.
She has only been taking fluids at the hospital.
A press release signed by Chika Ojiegbe, Chief Press Secretary to the wife of Abia State Governor, states that the girl will be flown to Abuja for further treatment.
The statement reads: “Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, who is funding the entire treatment of the girl, has directed that the little girl be flown to Abuja for continued management and possible corrective surgeries.”
The statement adds: “Investigations have also revealed that the young girl was serially abused and brutalized by Mrs Esther Zazi David leaving many injuries including a broken collar-bone, which was sustained when her mistress allegedly threw her down on the ground and viciously stepped on her neck, shoulder, and chest. The doctors will also handle that injury.”
Meanwhile, the case between Abia State Government and the police versus Mrs. Esther Orjiugo Zazi Kelechi David came up yesterday, September 16, at the State High Court Umuahia before Justice KCJ Okereke for consideration on a bail application.
Poor child, may she heal and get better. The woman who subjected this girl to this pain should be jailed.
