Sanaa Lathan Is Aging Backwards

Sanaa Lathan is aging backwards. Can you believe the actress who brought us classic characters like Monica Wright in Love & Basketball, Sidney ‘Syd’ Shawin in Brown Sugar, Zora Banks in Disappearing Acts (and so many more) is 50-years-young, but doesn’t look a day over her most beloved character (a high school basketball star turned pro).

In 2018, Lathan shaved off her hair for the role of Violet in Netflix’s Nappily Ever After — bringing new life to her already youthful appearance. Since then, her tresses have grown back thicker and healthier than ever. And every now and then, the beloved actress treats us to a sun kissed selfie on social media.

On this episode of Black Don’t Crack, Black Don’t Crack, Courtney Bee, Shay Calhoun, and Kim Hylton attempt to guess Sanaa’s age through various stages of her long-spanning career.

Sanaa McCoy Lathan is an American actress. As a voice actress, from 2009 to 2013, she voiced Donna Tubbs in The Cleveland Show and in all concurrent and subsequent Family Guy appearances.

The actress Sanna Lathan is currently single and has not revealed anything about having a boyfriend or partner. We assume she had relationships in the past, but she mostly enjoys her time by herself, and it has been quite a long time since she has remained single.

On stage, Lathan was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance on Broadway in A Raisin in the Sun and starred in 2010 in the all-black performance of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Novello Theatre in London.

Lathan’s adolescence was a tough period. She has stated she was a latchkey kid whose parents weren’t around much. As a result, she was left with relatives who happened to suffer from drug abuse. However she went on to develop a solid relationship with her parents in the ensuing years.

She graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor’s degree in English. She then attended Yale University and earned a master’s degree in drama.

In January 2021, it was announced that she was cast in Season 3 of Succession as a Lisa Arthur, a high profile, well-connected New York lawyer.
