A Nigerian woman has shared her experience with her ex-lover, who tried to cajole her into carrying out a ritual for him to acquire wealth.
The young lady recounted the incident on social media while reacting to viral reports alleging that Bimbo, the late wife of businessman IVD, carried a sacrifice for him for his success.
Reacting to the trending story, the young lady identified as @hairbybims on Instagram affirmed that the claim was real as she had a similar experience in the past.
She said her ex-lover had pleaded with her to help him with the ritual to help him get rich, before their relationship went south.
She said when she learned of the consequences, she refused to go through with the plan, and she’s grateful for it.
“This Ebo thing is for real, how men will beg their wives to carry ebo for them. Thank God I refused to carry for my ex, my enemy for don dey run mad every market day. It’s really sad”, she wrote.
A lot of work still needs to be done by Nigerian parents when raising girls. Girls should be taught from an early age to be firm, decisive and smart especially when it comes to relationships with men.
Girls shouldn’t be raised with the mindset that they can move mountains for men to their detriment. They shouldn’t be taught that they have the power to change men’s lives.
It is not right for a woman to endanger her life and sanity because of her lover. I have read many stories from different women since Bimbo Ogbonna died who said they carried out sacrifices for their men to be wealthy and I begin to imagine why these women didn’t do the same for themselves.
Why should the responsibility of a man’s wealth and riches rest on his woman? Why do women subject themselves to such an arrangement when they know about the consequences of carrying out such sacrifices?
