The two suspects arrested in connection with the death of Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, may face charges for negligence.
It was earlier reported that eight domestic staff present at the time of the drowning incident were invited for questioning after which six were released while Davido’s cook and nanny were detained.
According to recent reports, the two suspects may remain in police custody until they are cleared by an autopsy report.
They might also be charged for negligence because they were directly in charge of Ifeanyi’s welfare while his parents were away.
A reliable source said:
“The cook and the nanny were the ones directly with the child, so, they are guilty of negligence until the autopsy is conducted. During investigation, we have suspects, and depending on the case, the suspects may or may not be released.
So far, the family has not objected to the autopsy, but how fast it will be done depends on the hospital. But the next move is to review the CCTV at the house.”
The spokesperson of the Lagos state Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the detention of the cook and nanny, refused to give further details about the ongoing investigation.
In a related news, a Nigerian clergyman, identified as Christian Shola, has declared that Ifeanyi, the late son of singer Davido, is a destiny child and would be brought back to life if brought to his church.
In a public message to the grieving parents, the prophet asked that Ifeanyi not be buried yet but that his body should be taken to his church, “solution ground,” within 21 hours from when he passed the message.
“I am Prophet Christian Shola, please don’t bury that boy yet, he is a destiny child. take Ifeanyi Adeleke to Solution Ground on or before 21hrs after this message and see what will happen, God of of solution can never fail (2king5v10). Olórun Christian Shola Agbayé”, he wrote on Twitter.
