A woman didn’t invite a couple who “snubbed” her from their wedding to her Christmas party to pay them back for what they did.
She asked Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum. Every year, for nearly a decade, she throws an annual Christmas party. Years ago, her friend Tara met her coworker Tony at the party. Tara and Tony began dating and then got engaged.
“They got married this spring. We didn’t get invited,” she explained. “[We] have known them both for years, basically introduced them, and they literally announced their engagement at my home.”
This year, she didn’t invite Tony and Tara to her Christmas party. But it got back to her that the couple is miffed about the snub.
“They think I’m being petty,” she wrote. “A couple friends mentioned it was a smaller wedding and they feel like I’m just punishing them.”
However, there were over 200 guests at the wedding, and the Reddit poster knew at least 50 of them.
“You can invite and not invite whoever you want without any reason,” a person said.
“If you’re not close enough to make it to the wedding invite list, why should they be close enough to you to make it to your Christmas party?” another wrote.
