Did a husband get his wife’s sister pregnant? That’s kinda what it sounds like after a mysterious post went viral on the TrueOfMyChest subreddit.
The anonymous poster told a story about her husband having a very strange reaction to her sister’s pregnancy announcement before her family.
It started when they were at her parents’ house for dinner. Everything was going fine, then her sister announced that she was pregnant.
Then things got weird: “I noticed at first that my husband got quiet, didn’t get up to congratulate her since the rest of us did, and just kept staring at or towards her.”
She asked if he was ok, and he mumbled that he was “feeling a bit sick.”
Then he started throwing up.
“He sat on the bathroom floor near the toilet just looking down and refusing to let me help him up to wash his face,” she wrote. “I kept asking him if he was okay but no response.”
She took him home. She checked his temperature and blood pressure, but everything was normal.
He eventually went to sleep, but early in the morning, she “woke up to the sound of him crying in the shower.”
She asked if he was OK. He said he just “needed a minute with himself.”
She continued the story: “I almost lost it demanding he explain what was going on and he told me he was just feeling overwhelmed…from what?!?! He’s not the type who gets stressed out from work or anything of the sort. This is just so strange and out of character [for] him.”
He got dressed, left, and then refused to talk any more about it.
Obviously, this left her with suspicions.
“What makes me feel so horrible is the fact that my sister once implied that my husband was her type and hoped to get someone like him,” she wrote. “She has a boyfriend btw. This could be nothing but I can’t shake this weird feeling about what happened.”
Her post went viral with more than 27,000 up votes and a lot of people had their own theories.
