Bride narrates how her husband ran away with all her money and blocked her number after his visa was approved

A woman has narrated how her new husband absconded with her money barely a day after their lavish wedding, which costs £26,000.

The 31-year-old, identified as Isabelle Glastonbury, said she returned home to discover that he had packed all his belongings and disappeared as soon as his visa was approved.

Speaking on their relationship, she said they decided to move to Sydney, Australia, after meeting in Dallas, USA, in 2015. Her parents fully sponsored their wedding, which took place at the Boat House in Palm Beach.

However, she received a huge shock when her husband ghosted her after a romantic dinner to celebrate his visa approval. She disclosed that her family paid the £5,300 for his visa application.

In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, she said,

“I got home and literally 90 per cent of his stuff had disappeared.

“I tried logging into our immigration accounts, I had been locked out of everything, my credit cards were maxed-out, and I was blocked on his phone, none of my calls or messages going through.”

Distraught by the incident, Isabelle said she spent over a month mourning the heartbreak and wondering why her husband left her and also ghosted their mutual friends, his best man, and even his own family.

In retrospect, Isabelle Glastonbury says she saw some warning signs in her husband but was too in love to notice and take action. According to her, she said he started disappearing at night, and she felt she was dating a complete stranger.

It’s been over a year since the pair divorced, and the only time Isabelle has spoken to her ex-husband is when they met in February 2021, and he vaguely said “he had to be single.”

However, she recently discovered through her friend that he has now remarried.

She said: “He was my best friend, my ride or die. He fooled everyone, including me.”

Isabelle has since remarried her childhood boyfriend Max, with whom she has a three-month-old son Mason.

Warning other women, she said; “Don’t be blind, because I’m sure I could have seen the signs before this happened and I just ignored it, you never really know who you are sleeping next to.”
