“I thank God for Adesua in my life” – Banky W recounts struggle with addiction
Nigerian singer turned politician, Banky W expresses deep appreciation for his wife, Adesua Etomi for her support during his struggle with addiction.
In his sermon on Sunday titled “The Prison of Pornography,” Banky W candidly shared his personal journey of overcoming adult movie addiction and highlighted the unwavering support he received from his wife.
He stressed the importance of having trustworthy individuals to confide in and seek support from. He acknowledged that his wife is the aspect of his life for which he is most grateful to God.
Banky W revealed that during his addiction battle, he would spend hours on the phone conversing with his wife, Adesua to resist temptation and stay on the path of recovery.
“If I don’t thank God for anything in my life, I thank God for this woman (pointing to his wife). It’s important to have somebody you can talk with, pick the right person and open up about your struggle. When I was still dealing with pornography, I would call this woman and talk with her for hours on the phone just so I wouldn’t break,” he said in part.
On Saturday, controversial blog, Gistlover, insinuated that the singer is cheating on his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington with his former signee, Niyola.
But addressing his congregation at the Waterbrooks church in Lagos on Sunday, the rapper-turned-preacher said the rumours were orchestrated by satanic elements who don’t want his members to listen to his Sunday sermon.
He declared that the devil is a liar while assuring his congregation that God was in control.
He said, “The devil really didn’t want you to hear this message. In fact, he didn’t want us to enter into this series at all. There was an attack at the beginning, but here we are. But the devil is a liar. And God is in control.”
