Naomi Campbell is opening up for the first time about using a surrogate.
The supermodel, 54, confirmed she leveraged a surrogate for her two kids: “I did,” she said in an interview published in The Times on June 7.
In the story, Naomi Campbell revealed that her daughter, 2, and her son, welcomed in June 2023, were both born via surrogacy.
Since welcoming her two children, the actress and reality show host has avoided mentioning their names, revealing their birthdays and sharing their faces.
Campbell also spoke about the “fear” she has for the future in the story.
“My babies are everything to me. It’s made me fear for the future,” Campbell added. “I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 percent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school.”
She added that she’s happy being a “single mother” and expressed that she’s weary of “young girls” saying they don’t want to have children or that it’s “too expensive.”
The English model told the outlet, “I have said, ‘You will change your mind. You will want to be a mum.’ I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work. It’s worth it. It is so amazing.”
Campbell hasn’t previously shared many details about her children, though she told Vogue in February 2022 that her daughter “wasn’t adopted — she’s my child.”
Now, Campbell is the first supermodel to be the subject of an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum – also called the V&A – in London.
Naomi: In Fashion opens on June 22 and is said to be the “first exhibition of its kind” to dive into Campbell’s career. The description reads, “Through the work of leading global designers and photographers we celebrate her creative collaborations, activism and far-reaching cultural impact.”
In May, the model shared the first-ever picture of her baby son.
Naomi Campbell posted a selection of photos on her Instagram, which featured her posting with both of her children. She was pictured while holding her son on her hip and hugging her daughter as they watched a sunset — with their backs to the camera.
“#BLESSED ❤️❤️????????,” she wrote in the caption.
