“Be a good girl, so a good man will marry you”.
Every girl growing up in an African home was told this.
Let’s look at the result of being a good girl, shall we?
A good man marries you and you…
Clean the house
Wash his clothes
Keep the home
Work from dawn to dusk and at night to satisfy him.
Get pregnant and deal with raging hormones.
Have kids that bear his name and seek his consent for their own lives.
God forbid he dies, you might be accused of killing him or be saddled with the kids and life thereafter.
God forbid you die, he’ll replace you in a matter of months. Another good girl must continue your good work.
Why the heck is the reward for being a good girl not:
*A PHD or trade/vocational skill
*A flourishing business
*An air conditioned office
*2 cars. One for work and the other for errands.
*A really nice house with a lots of rolling hills around it and creek somewhere at bottom with ducks. Ducks are so cool.
*Vacations in the Maldives every month eating lobster tails.
*Lots and lots of money
*Good health
*Long life and prosperity
Above all
*The pursuit of happiness?
We gotta revisit this good girl thing. The reward for being a good girl should NOT be a good man or any man. It must be much much more than a human!
Be a good girl, so you can have a good life and be independent.

It is annoying that even after being a good girl that a good man will marry, he will be cheating on you with a bad girl.
Girls should be taught how to be good people not so a man can see their goodness and marry them. Some good girls have been wrecked by marriage.
Girls should be taught how to be rich and productive in life and hounded to to be good for bad boys who were badly raised sons that they can reward these girls with marriage.
