A young man arrested for stealing bunches of plantain in Ebedebiri, Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa, has claimed that he committed the offence because of his girlfriend.
According to reports shared by community leaders on Monday, May 24, the suspect was caught and during interrogation by a community leader, Peres Double, the suspect claimed that his girlfriend demanded for the sum of ten thousand naira (N10,000) supposedly to buy make-up and had given him a deadline to get the money.
The suspected thief from Angiama community, said he became so frustrated that he entered people’s farms in the community, harvested their plantains in a bid to sell them and raise money for his girlfriend. The suspect pleaded with the community leadership to forgive him.

A man cheats, he blames his wife for not being beautiful, sexy, obedient, submissive and good enough.
A man steals and blames his girlfriend or wife for being a criminal.
A man rapes a woman, he blames her dressing, beauty and refusal to date him for his actions.
A man k.i.l.l.s a woman, he blames her for talking back at him, disrespecting him or provoking him.
A man is caught defiling a minor, he blames the minor’s mother for not protecting her child enough.
Today, one man tweeted that we shouldn’t blame men who cheat on their wives because their wives must have dated married men in the past. He claims that it is karma working.
I didn’t know that karma works only against women. This Nigerian brand of karma must be gender selective to punish only women and ignore men.
Dear Nigerian men, why are you people lily livered and cowards? Why not chest your crimes, irresponsibility and bad behaviour in peace instead of blaming women for the nonsense you do all the time?
