Popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has spoken about her relationship with colleague, Funke Akindele.
Few days after actress, Iyabo Ojo hinted that there’s a perceived beef between Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele, Toyin in a recent interview debunked the rumour.
It all started after an Instagram movie review page shared a negative review about Toyin Abraham’s new movie, ‘The Ghost And The Tout Too’.
Reacting to this Iyabo Ojo Alleged that Funke Akindele was behind the negative review.
Iyabo Ojo wrote:
How much did Funke pay you to write this rubbish? The day she begins to find ways not to talk bad about her fellow colleagues or try to discredit their hard work or personality, that day she will begin to experience inner peace.
Na Social Media you go dey form better person, I know you & you know me, we know ourselves wella and you @cinemapointer go back and tell your sender that on matter how many times you try to pull Toyin down or discredit her works, it won’t work.
Toyin’s hard work and Movie THE GHOST AND THE TOUT TOO will make box office & your blood gonna dry from hate and jealousy. Awon pointer isonu. May God destroy the works of your hands, oloriburuku alaye baje. I said what I said, messenger of doom.”
However, Toyin Abraham in a recent interview stated that Funke Akindele is one of the few people in the Nigerian movie industry that she respects and looks up to.
In her words:
“She is my senior colleague and she is someone I respect a lot; so, I do not know what people are talking about, trust me. She is one of the few people I look up to.
Sometimes, people do not understand that we are colleagues and not family. So, you cannot be talking to all your colleagues. We talk, we follow each other.
“If I see her, I will kneel down and say, ‘Aunty Funke se wa okay?’. A lot of people do not understand that we are working in the same space; we do not have to be close friends. When we see ourselves we greet each other. Forget social media, trust me.”
