Twitter erupts as Adele WALKS OUT amid Harry Styles’ Grammy win over Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’
It appears that the hardcore Beyonce fan, Adele, did not take well to Harry Styles’ ‘Album of the Year’ win.
The ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer had apparently walked out when Styles’ win for ‘Harry’s House’ was announced, over Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance.’
This is not the first time Adele stood up for Beyonce — in 2017, she famously hit out at the Grammys for awarding her own album, ’25,’ in favor of Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade.’
Twitter went crazy about Adele’s seeming show of support for Beyonce as she walked past Lizzo when the ‘As It Was’ singer took to the stage to present his speech.
Styles has also received a lot of flak from Beyonce’s fans for controversially claiming that “people like him” don’t win awards — with Queen Bey’s fans commenting that as a white male, it was not true at all.
However, it was during Styles‘ acceptance speech that Adele was seen leaving, making fans question whether she had left the venue to show solidarity for Beyonce.
Twitter users had mixed reactions as some were left enraged and others amused at Styles’ win over Beyonce and Adele’s supposed walkout.
One user said, “At least when Adele won over Beyoncé she recognized her and said she should break it in half and give it to her… harry ate that s**t up and said people like him never get this chance when he’s a white man that makes music black people created.”
Another Twitter user also made their displeasure known about Styles’ win by tweeting, “So Harry Styles wins over Beyonce and Adele? He’s f*****g with the director of this s**t because there’s NO WAY.”
The “As It Was” singer and “Don’t Worry Darling” actor, 29, accepted the awards for best pop vocal performance and Album of the Year on Sunday night, thanking his fellow nominees including Beyoncé, Adele, Lizzo and Brandi Carlile.
“I’ve been so inspired by every artist in this category with me,” the British singer said in his speech. “On nights like tonight, there are no such things as ‘best’ in music. This is really, really kind. I’m so grateful. This doesn’t happen to people like me very often.”
