“How desperation almost pushed me into prostitution” – Actress Omotola Jalade opens up (Video)
Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has opened up about how desperation at a young age almost pushed her into prostitution.
Speaking in a chat with media personality Chude Jidenwo, the famous actress narrated how she lost her dad when she was 12 and how the tragic event almost derailed her life.
According to her, she learned to be emotionless, and things never got to her again, no matter how hurtful they may be after her dad died.
Recently, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde bemoaned the level of suffering the average Nigerian goes through in the country.
The actress, who relocated to the U.S with her family two years ago, said living in the US has made her deeply frustrated by the volume of needless suffering in Nigeria.
According to her, Nigerians are too intelligent to be suffering the way they are, and that she’s bamboozled by some things Nigerians endure on a daily basis.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde further stated that suffering is not something to be bragged about, and people shouldn’t have to suffer before basic things are provided.
Taking to her Instastory, the 44-year-old movie star said:
“After living in the US Now for about 2 years…not just visiting but living and changing systems. I now see many things we managed and Let slide is just pure craziness. I’m deeply frustrated at the depth and volume of the needless suffering Nigerians go through. We are too Intelligent a people to suffer like this. Suffering is not lessons to brag about …it’s evil.”
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is a Nigerian actress, singer, philanthropist and former model. Since her Nollywood film debut in 1995, Ekeinde has appeared in over 300 films, selling millions of copies.
