Ariana Grande Revealed She Used A Lot Of Botox & Fillers to “Hide Herself”

Ariana Grande is sharing her beauty secrets — all of them. The musician is opening up about her prior use of Botox and fillers and how she used beauty to “hide” herself.

Ariana Grande is the latest celeb to share her start-to-finish beauty routine, from her skin care prep to the final touches, with Vogue in their Beauty Secrets series.

Grande goes through her entire process and chats through it on the way, but one particular confession from the superstar felt exceptionally vulnerable and honest.

About halfway through her routine, Grande discusses her ever-changing relationship with beauty and makeup. “I, over the years, used makeup as a disguise as something to hide behind, more and more hair … thicker eyeliner. That can be so beautiful, and I still have love and appreciation for it, but as I get older, I don’t love that being the intention behind it anymore.’

Grande now thinks about beauty as self-expression and says that everyone’s relationship with it is so personal; everyone just wants to look and feel their best.

In the next few minutes, Grande touches on her use of fillers and Botox and why she quit. “I’ve had a ton of lip filler over the years, Botox…I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so…too much,” she says, beginning to tear up. “I just felt like hiding. For a long time, beauty was about hiding for me, and now I feel like maybe it’s not.”

Grande may have stopped using fillers, but that doesn’t mean she will forever. “I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines; I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper, and I laugh more and more,” she says in the video. “Aging can be such a beautiful thing. Might I get a face-lift in 10 years? I might, yeah! But these are just thoughts that I feel like we should be able to discuss. If we’re talking about beauty secrets, f*ck it, let’s lay it all out there.”

The musician has been much more private as of late. Still, earlier this year, Grande also addressed “concerns” about her body in a TikTok video, saying she was “at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.” She continued, saying, “I know I shouldn’t have to explain that. But I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here, good might come from it.”
