Dear Nigerian men, you can’t mess with a woman who doesn’t need validation. You cannot mess with a woman who doesn’t care about pleasing society.
She’s too hot for to handle. Such women don’t care about name calling and slut shaming, they own their shame. And they have shamed shame.
All of us cannot be docile. All of us cannot be meek. All of us cannot be virtuous. All of us can’t keep quiet about gender discrimination and inequality.
All of us can’t be dancing to the tunes of partriachy. All of us can’t be shivering when we sniff subjugation. All of us can’t pretend to be dumb so that you can feel intelligent.
All of us can’t stop using our brains because you feel threatened by our brilliance. All of us can’t resign ourselves to the fate you subject women to in this part of the world.
All of us can’t be your definition of a good girl. All of us can’t pretend to hate sex so that you will be feeling like a god. All of us can’t accept your ridiculous rules for women.
All of us can’t be afraid to say what we want, when we want and how we want it. All of us can’t be kept like acquisitions. All of us can’t shut up in the face of injustice and abuse.
Some of us were born not to take trash from insecure bunches. Some of us were born not to stay quiet in the face of injustice.
Some of us were born to be the fire, if you come near, you will get burned. You don’t mess with all women. You know the ones you can mess with.
But you don’t mess with a woman who knows who she is and is not afraid to speak her mind.
You don’t mess with a woman who is not normal. You don’t mess with a woman who has shamed shame.
You don’t mess with a woman who stands in her independence and power. You don’t mess with a woman who doesn’t want to fit in.
You don’t mess with a woman who doesn’t want to be your version of a good girl. You don’t mess with a woman who is true to herself and doesn’t need validation.
You don’t mess with some of us. I promise that you won’t recover. You will get the shock of your life that all women are not the same.
Just stay on your lane and stop shaming women who refuse to bow to your whims and caprices.
