In a heartbreaking update, the toddler who was missing since his mother’s dead body was found, has been located but he is dead.

Taylen Mosley had been not seen after a welfare check officer discovered the remains of his 20-year-old mother, Pashun Jeffery, inside a Lincoln Shores apartment on Thursday, March 30.

Police Chief Anthony Holloway said as reported by CBS News that the team looking for the boy “spotted an alligator with an object in its mouth”. He said, “As the detectives got closer they fired one round at the alligator. The alligator dropped the object that he had in his mouth and we were able to retrieve Taylen’s body intact.

“We didn’t want to find him this way, but at least we can bring some closure to that family now. We are sorry it has had to end this way,” Holloway added. The child’s cause of death is yet to be ascertained. In a tweet, St. Pete Police shared, “#stpetepd Chief Holloway said It’s with great sadness that we report we found the body of Taylen Mosley in Lake Maggiore. His father Thomas Mosley is charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder.” Reportedly, Mosley was dubbed a person of interest soon after he got himself admitted into a local hospital with “cuts to his hands into his arms.”

The police chief stated that “nothing in our investigation leads us to believe that he is a victim”. He also claimed that the man “is not talking to us,” The Daily Mail reported.

Meanwhile, the family members of both victims told WFLA, “He’s always calling his mom on his cell phone. He miss his mom, they calling each other all the time. She really loved Taylen. We just want to say that Taylen is a beautiful little boy. He’s really loving and caring.”

The double tragedy has attracted a lot of attention on social media, especially after the child’s body was found.
