Chef Dammy said that she did not take any particular cooking classes before setting out to break the record for the longest cooking duration by an individual.

During her media round with a radio station, the 22-year-old student stated that she did it out of enthusiasm.

Dammy, real name Damilola Adeparusi, told the radio host that she had never learned to cook or attended any culinary school.

She feels that when someone is doing something they enjoy, they will gain knowledge.

She said; “I didn’t go to culinary school. I didn’t learn how to cook. If you love something, explore it and the knowledge will come.”

While speaking with BBC News Yoruba, after her 120 hours cook-a-thon, Chef Dammy said that she did not go into the task to be a Guinness World Records holder or defeat Hilda Baci.

In a video, she said: “I just love cooking.”

She also revealed that it had always been her dream to gather her people and cook for them.

Meanwhile, Guinness World Records earlier clarified that Dammy did not submit an application before attempting to break her compatriot, Hilda Baci’s cooking record.

According to a publication, GWR revealed in an inquiry that they didn’t receive an application from the Ekiti based chef.

“We have not received an application for this attempt. Applications can be made via the Guinness World Records website for our records management team to review.

“Once an application is accepted, the record claimant receives a set of detailed guidelines specific to that record category that must be adhered to.
