Keke Palmer is not slowing down anytime soon. On Wednesday, BET announced that the 30-year-old singer and actress will host this year’s Soul Train Awards, which recognizes the best in soul, R&B and hip-hop.

“Keke Palmer is a globally recognized multi-hyphenate talent who embodies confidence and positivity and is one of the most engaging and lovable personalities working in entertainment today. We can’t wait to have her host the Soul Train Awards house party,” Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy said in a press release.

She added: “BET gave Keke her first talk show, where she made history as the youngest talk show host in television, and today we are honored to have her back on the Soul Train Awards stage. As always, expect our star-studded slate of soulful artists and can’t-miss moments to illuminate your screens for a night dedicated to soul music.”

The show, which will be taped in Los Angeles, will premiere on Sunday Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on BET.

During the show, stars like BJ the Chicago Kid, Coco Jones, Danté Bowe, Fridayy, Muni Long, SWV, and Palmer will take the stage for special performances.

Meanwhile, Summer Walker, SZA and Usher lead the nominations list with nine each.

Palmer’s hosting gig announcement comes a week after she filed a domestic violence restraining order against ex Darius Jackson and was granted temporary sole custody of their 8-month-old son Leodis, with no visitation rights for Jackson.

Days later, a source told PEOPLE that Palmer “did what she had to do,” despite having worked “hard to have an amicable split.”

She gave him a lot of chances to do the right thing,” they add. “Keke tried so hard to have an amicable split and arrangement [custody].”

“She needed to prioritize her safety and the safety of her baby,” the source continued. “She wants the best for Leo. She did not want it to get to this point. But she did what she had to do.”

Palmer and her ex-boyfriend, who welcomed their son in February, have gone through public difficulties in their relationship in recent months, most notably when Jackson publicly criticized the actress in July for wearing a fitted, black bodysuit under a sheer dress when she watched Usher perform at his Las Vegas Residency.

In addition to the Soul Train Awards, Palmer will take part in NBC’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center special on Nov. 29.
