Gypsy Rose Blanchard wants Millie Bobby Brown to play her in a movie about her life
There have been loads of documentaries about Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s story from over the years.
Her new Lifetime documentary The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard has just been released and is described as having “unprecedented access to Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy who suffered horrific abuse and made national headlines for her role in her mother’s violent murder.”
But as well as true crime shows based on her story there have also been numerous dramatisations including the 2019 miniseries The Act starring Joey King as Gypsy Rose.
Joey King, who is also known for Netflix’s The Kissing Booth, recently said she reached out to Gypsy and said she is very happy for her being released from prison.
But now Gypsy Rose Blanchard has said she would want Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown to play her in any new films or TV shows about her life story.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, she said: “You know it’s funny because I always wanted Millie Bobby Brown to play me. I think she would be so good at playing me.”
She then laughs and addresses Millie Bobby Brown saying: “I always had you in mind!”
Even though she wants Millie Bobby Brown to portray her, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has said she still hasn’t seen the Hulu drama The Act. She told Access Hollywood she didn’t want to relive her trauma by watching it but she did say Joey King’s portrayal of her is “spot on”.
“I’m sure that Joey King did an amazing job playing me. I actually heard an audio clip of her doing my voice, and I think she got it spot-on.”
