It’s a big mistake to think that everybody loves you

It’s a big mistake to think that everybody loves you. That’s a big lie. Some people don’t even like seeing your face no matter how hard they pretend.

Some people don’t love you but they will confidently take space in your life because they want to use their closeness with you to get what they want.

They will pretend to love and care for you but they have a hidden agenda. You will discover the truth about their presence in your life when they don’t get what they want from you.

I call them users. These kinds of people are everywhere. They say the right things, listen to you, offer you support as little as they can just to butter you up for when they will start making demands from you.

I have been a victim of such a person. She suddenly started getting close to me. I thought she was a good person. I opened up to her.

I shared some of my pains and struggles with her. She was always there to listen and offer advice to me. I felt good. I thought I had met the one.

Two years later, she started up something and invited me. I attended the event. But later on, I started noticing some behavior change from her.

I shook it off because I didn’t want to start seeing things that weren’t there. I asked her one day if there was a problem, she said no.

Later on, I discovered that she got close to me because she wanted me to be promoting her events for free. She told someone she was disappointed that I wanted her to pay for advertising her events.

I was shocked. This is someone who knows that my only means of livelihood was writing and promoting events and businesses. If I start advertising all my friends businesses for free, how will I pay my bills?

In this world, people can just hate you for no reason. Some can try to explain their hatred by holding on to your weaknesses and perceived sins.

Sometimes, it is the ones who you think love you that are destroying your reputation behind your back. They don’t want you to be more successful than them.

It is the ones who you expect to support you that will disappoint you the more. When you truly need them, they will be nowhere to be found. That is when they will remember the time you didn’t share fish head with them.

Bear this in mind, it’s not everyone you think is on your side wants to see you win. It’s not everyone who smiles at you that loves you. They can be smiling at you and killing you in their hearts.

It’s not everyone who helps you that cares about you. Some do it so that they can use it against you tomorrow. Not every hand is a helping hand, some just want to keep you down.

Be alert. Be wise. Be discerning. Don’t be naive in this world. It’s not everyone who smiles at you and befriends you that loves you. Don’t make that mistake.
