Marriage is luck, there are no recipes for a successful marriage writes Toke Makinwa

0

Toke Makinwa said that a successful marriage or relationship is down to good luck and there are no recipes for a successful union.

The media personality explained that there are no recipes for a successful marriage and a woman could attend all the marriage seminars, read all the books on how to make a marriage successful, and even do everything right, yet it won’t work.

She said this while reacting to yet another seminar telling women how to be more desirable for men.

Toke said it is the duty of the two people in the relationship to make themselves desirable and spend time working to keep what they have.

She added that there are too many women working to make themselves desirable for men who are not developing themselves.

She went on to ask for seminars for men too so that “everyone is working on themselves for themselves”.

“The earlier people realize that these relationship/ marriage is not rocket science but luck.

You are truly lucky and blessed to experience love, commitment, compatibility etc.

There are no recipes to a successful marriage, no rule books to what works.

Two people make a choice to be desirable and spend time working to keep what they have.

If you like read all the books, cook all the meals, have the most explosive sex styles, What will work, will work. What will scatter, will scatter. It’s life, it’s lessons, it’s seasons. Thank you all for coming to my TedTalk.

For those shocked that I said luck, yes luck cos what are the odds of you finding love that’ll last the test of time in this world?

You are truly lucky and blessed that that which is not in our control happened for you both.

Those who haven’t experienced or are not as lucky are not less desirable, It’s just not in the cards for them (yet).

Not everyone will experience it too. So yes you are both “lucky” to have found yourselves on this side of eternity.

Hence the term Lucky/unlucky in Love. Luck – opportunity meets preparation right? I do agree that working on yourself is important but working on yourself only to be desirable for a man is a dangerous theory.

So many women working on themselves for guys who are not developing themselves cos society holds women to a different standard.

They meet and it won’t work why? Cos her desirability is great on paper but the reality??

How about seminars for men too so everyone is working on themselves for themselves.”
