“Our vision no longer aligned” Funke Akindele finally opens up on separation from JJC Skillz
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has finally opened up on her split from her ex-husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz.
In an interview with Legit.ng on Wednesday, December 15th, the actress and filmmaker revealed that their vision no longer aligned.
According to her, their dreams and vision of what their marriage should be like no longer aligned.
She added that all efforts to make it work fell on deaf ears, hence, their decision to split.
“Well, the truth is our dreams and vision of what our marriage should be just no longer aligned. And efforts to make it work all fell on deaf ears, so why hang around”.
In September, JJC Skillz gave an update on his current relationship with his estranged wife, Funke Akindele.
In an interview, he stated that both of them would be together forever because of the children they have created.
He said, “When it comes to me and my wife, we are together forever when it comes to our children and what we have created.”
Before his marriage to Funke Akindele, JJC who has three kids with different women revealed that the actress asked him to leave her house and refused any form of amicable communication with him.
“Dear friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created two beautiful children.
The last two years have been extremely difficult. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us.
I know I have tried my best fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. Three months ago and at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house. And apart from AMVCA, I haven’t been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable matter to discuss the future of our relationship.
I’m making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives.
We still have issues that need to be addressed such as custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interest which need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other”.
