A man, identified as Chama Paul Mulenga, has taken to Facebook to lament bitterly about his wife’s refusal to plan their family.

Paul went online to vent his frustration because he suspects that his wife is pregnant again only eight months after giving birth to their last child.

According to him, he has asked his wife to do family planning but she always gives him excuses, and he can’t do without s€x because he has a high s€x drive.

Unfortunately, it appears his wife is pregnant again eight months after they welcomed their child and he doesn’t know what to do about their predicament.

Mr. Chama Paul Mulenga made the complaint on a Nigerian Facebook group on Wednesday, April 19.

He said:”My wife has a problem of taking family planning of which she always has excuses here and there, but as a man I have s€xual desires and I can’t even go up to 4-5 months without s€x with her. I am tired of this and I even go to an extent of almost forcing myself on her, apparently she has missed for this month which mainly happens between the 10th and the 12th. We have an 8 month baby and I don’t know what would become of us. What do I do?”

Both women and men have an important role to play in planning a family. However, in some cultures contraception is considered to be a woman’s responsibility, so many women make family planning decisions on their own. Ideally, the couple will discuss together how many children to have and when to have them.

Educating men may be particularly crucial to prevent unintended pregnancies and improve reproductive health. Men aren’t considered an integral part of reproductive health care. Since services are not geared to men’s needs, men aren’t likely to take responsibility for their or their partner’s contraceptive choices.
