A woman sent a message asking for advice because her husband impregnated a teenage girl on their street and her in-laws are blaming her for his philandering.
According to this woman, her husband has been cheating since they got married eleven years ago but he keeps begging her for forgiveness whenever she catches him but this time around, he told her he won’t apologize and she should do her worst.
She wrote;
“My husband and I have been married for eleven years now and we have two children. We always wanted more but because of his behaviour, I made sure I stopped at two. I didn’t want to be saddled with the responsibilities of many children.
I first discovered he was cheating on me on the second year of our marriage. I was devastated because the lady even came to our house to ask after him. When she asked me who I was and what I was doing in her boyfriend’s house, I told her I was his wife. She was shocked, she left without an incident.
I later found out that he was dating her because she had money and even promised her marriage. I packed my things and went back to my parents house because I didn’t sign up for such a marriage. But my parents kept telling me to go back and work on my marriage because no marriage is easy.
After two months of him begging and promising to change, I went back but this is my greatest regret in life. He didn’t stop cheating. He got better at hiding it. He became bolder. He started keeping late nights and shady friends. He started drinking a lot too.
For years, he cheated on me with different women. Whenever I tell my mom what I’m facing, she will advise me to pray for him to change, she will take his side and tell me to be submissive to my husband and to stop checking his phone.
I have endured his lies, deceit and disrespect for years until last month when I saw a message on his phone from a girl on our street who said she was pregnant again for him and that she won’t abort it this time.
When I confronted him, he said the message wasn’t for him but I pointed out that the girl mentioned his name in the message. He got defensive and said he won’t be the first married man to impregnate a little girl. I grabbed a bottle close by and hit him on the head with it.
He called his uncle’s afterwards and told them that I wanted to k!ll him because of a small mistake. His uncle’s visited us days later claiming they were coming to settle our marital dispute.
I was shocked when they blamed me for his behaviour after listening to everything I told them about my husband. They told me to kneel and apologize to him and said I should be covering my husband’s weakness as a wife.
I told them I won’t apologize to someone who has been hurting me for years and endangering my life. I walked out on them. I left the house. I blocked all their numbers including that of my husband.
What hurt me the most is that they didn’t even address the girl he impregnated or what my husband is planning to do with her. I felt like a fool for putting up with his cheating for years.
Right now, I don’t know what to do with my life. I’m stranded. I didn’t finish my university education became of my marriage and I don’t have any skills that will bring me money. I’m in my brother’s house and he wants to know how I will take care of myself and my children afterwards. He supports my decision to end my marriage but I’m scared of what the future holds for me.
