Neal McDonough refuses to k#ss anyone in movies or series as ‘his lips are meant for one woman’

For Neal McDonough, his refusal to even k#ss another woman is less about maintaining a brand image as an action star and more about his religious beliefs.

The actor has made it very clear that he will not even so much as kiss another woman on screen.

He said: “I won’t kiss any other woman because these lips are only for one woman.”

Neal McDonough explained that he felt that under his religious beliefs, even kissing someone else for a scene in a movie would, for him, be infidelity.

McDonough and his wife, Ruvé first met on the set of Band of Brothers, with their paths first crossing in 2000.

For McDonough it was love at first sight.

The pair married in December 2003, three years after they first met, and have since had five children together.

But his refusal to perform in intimate scenes has previously proved an obstacle to his career.

Speaking to Closer Weekly, Neal McDonough recalled being fired from ABC series Scoundrels over his stance.

He said: “I was [surprised], and it was a horrible situation for me.

“After that, I couldn’t get a job because everybody thought I was this religious zealot.

Neal McDonough has lost roles over his position.

“I am very religious. I put God and family first, and me second. That’s what I live by. It was hard for a few years.”

Now, the actor has had to clarify his position ahead of time, to avoid similar incidents.

Recalling being cast in Desperate Housewives, he said: “When Marc Cherry signed me, I told him, ’You probably already know this, but I won’t kiss anyone.’

“’But this is Desperate Housewives!’ Cherry said. I told him, ’I know.’ He waited for a few seconds and then responded, ’Okay, I’ll just have to write better.’”

The actor says he feels very lucky, and is happy with his wife and family.

He said: “I’m the luckiest guy I know to have her as my partner in everything after five kids and a great life.”
