Dear ladies, arguing with a man about how you want to be treated is a waste of time. If the man you are dating or married to doesn’t value and respect you, begging him all the time to treat you right won’t change anything. You need to act and act fast.
Most times, when I hear women complain about being treated badly by their boyfriends and husbands, I feel indifferent. I don’t see the point of allowing another human being treat you like an animal with your consent.
Many women give men the power to hurt them with their actions. They cry, beg and tell these men to love and respect them but it falls on deaf ears. They are treated like doormats.
You don’t beg a man to treat you like you deserve when you can replace him with someone better. The problem is that many Nigerian women don’t have standards. They feel lucky to have any man in their lives.
This society has conditioned the girl child to aspire for marriage at the expense of her being successful in life and so there is already a terrible imbalance from the start.
These girls will grow up to be obsessed with relationships and marriage. The boys will grow up to be men who are not obsessed with being successful.
Then these women marry those men, and the relationship is automatically uneven because the institution matters more to one than the other.
This is why in so many marriages in Nigeria, women sacrifice more at the loss of themselves and their happiness, because they have to constantly maintain an uneven exchange.
This is why many women are being treated badly by men who are supposed to love, protect and respect them. These men see these women as objects that fulfill their culinary, cleaning and sexual needs.
Nigerian women should grow some balls and dispose men who treat them badly. A Man should feel lucky to have you and not the other way round.
