Adekunle Gold, Simi go sensual in ‘Sinner’
Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian Afro-pop singer, has put out the visuals for his latest track aptly titled ‘Sinner’.
The 34-year-old songwriter took to his social media pages to announce the release of the music video to his numerous followers on Thursday.
The music video, which features Lucky Daye, the American musician, depicts Gold hugging and caressing Simi, his wife, in a swimming pool, on a car’s bonnet, and in the bedroom.
The less than three-minute visuals sees both vocalists loved up and romantically involved in a world of their own.
After putting out the audio version, the ‘Okay’ singer had delivered a spectacular live performance of ‘Sinner’ at the Paramount Ameraycan Studios in Los Angeles.
The lovebirds had tied the knot at a low-key ceremony in January 2019 and welcomed their first child together in June last year.
The couple, whose union entered its second year in 2021, had penned lovely messages to celebrate each other on their anniversary.
Adekunle Gold told Official Charts that the song was inspired by the Biblical story of King David and Bathsheba: “I thought about the intimacy between them.
I know it’s weird, but I thought about how Bathsheba must have been so badass to entice King David so much that he was going to risk it all for her.
I know it’s a story people talk about that shows the frailty of David, but I chose to see it as that she must have been so beautiful, so I thought write about it that way.”
“While I was writing the song and the melodies I knew this was a banger. Sometimes I have a lot of things I want to talk about and I write them down and see what fits with the vibe I’m in, but in that moment the only thing that came to mind was that story. I thought, you’re the next one.”
