Model Meadow Walker, daughter of the late Paul Walker, shares her abortion story in the wake of Roe v. Wade decision

Meadow Walker shared her abortion story on Instagram, hours after the United States Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“Today marks a huge setback in history,” the model, who is the daughter of the late actor Paul Walker, wrote on Friday. Walker called the court’s decision to overturn the 1973 ruling protecting abortion right nationally, “a profound injustice to women across the United States.”

“There are countless women who have struggled with making the decision to have an abortion. I too have battled with the choice but in 2020, when the world was collapsing during the pandemic, I sought an abortion,” the 23-year-old continued. “It was a very private and personal experience — the way it should be.”

Meadow Walker, who married Louis Thornton-Allan in 2021, explained that she was “lucky enough to have a great doctor who supported me through the debilitating process” and that with their help she was able to become the “happy and healthy” person she is today.

“Now, knowing even more women won’t have the opportunity to seek safe termination and choose their bodies first is absolutely heartbreaking,” she continued. “In a world that constantly marginalizes females, this feels like the biggest assault of them all. Banning abortion doesn’t prevent abortions, it prevents safe abortions.”

Although she turned off the amount of visible Instagram likes, Walker’s post has received an outpouring of love and support from her friends and fans.

“So thoughtful, beautiful, and important. Thank you for sharing your story,” wrote Pencils of Promise CEO, Kailee Scales. Model pal Lais Ribeiro shared a prayer hands and a heart emoji.

“Thank you for sharing your story. You are loved and valued,” wrote a fan.

This is not the first time the face of the Tiffany & Co. Silver campaign has spoken out about her mental and physical health.

In November 2021, Meadow Walker shared a past tumor diagnosis. She posted a photo from 2019, where she appeared to be in a medical treatment facility. She wore a surgical cap on and fiducials — small stickers that look like donuts — affixed to spots on her forehead and the side of her face.
