Mom Of 10 Kids In 10 Years Only Gets One Child-Free Date Night With Husband Per Year

0

Courtney Rogers is a mom-of-10 who hasn’t spent more than 9 months NOT being pregnant since she got married to her husband Chris Rogers in 2008.

The couple has six boys and four girls, and they’re all aged between nine months and 10 years. The parents homeschool their children, and they live in a 12-acre ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Being a rather large family, they drive around in a 15-seater van, and they spend a whopping $1,200 a month for food.

The 36-year-old Courtney and her pastor husband are keen to increase their brood to 12 children, just like the couple in the 2003 comedy Cheaper by the Dozen.

The mom revealed that she only gets one ‘date night’ alone with her husband a year. Yes, you read that right – a year!

Parenting 10 kids is most certainly not easy (and cheap), so the children have to wear hand-me-down clothes and shoes, and the family shops from the sales racks.

They go camping in Georgia once a year for a week in order to enjoy their family vacation, and Courtney and Chris forgo presents for one another at Christmas to save money and spend $1,000 on gifts for their children.

The couple enjoys only one child-free date together a year, and their last such date was in November, when friends looked after the children. Courtney, however, said that they want to have more children if they can, as they’re already accustomed to having lots of strollers and kids in diapers at once.

Courtney Rogers stated that she actually enjoys being pregnant, and she’s against using birth control for personal reasons. Sadly, the couple went through two miscarriages, but that didn’t stop them from having more children.

Both parents start the day at 7:30 am, when they wake up with their baby Coralee and make breakfast for everyone, who’s out of bed by 8 am.

Courtney explained that them most hectic part of the day is the morning, as there are kids running everywhere, but everybody helps out with lunch, and everyone gets their chores done.

Although she had her first baby when she was 25 and didn’t think they would all come so fast, the mom-of-10 says she wouldn’t change it for the world, and she and her husband always make sure that none of their children miss out, particularly at special times, like Christmas.
