A Nigerian man has reportedly threatened to divorce his wife for refusing to get pregnant again after having four children.
An event compere based in Akwa Ibom, identified as Imaan Mike Umoh, shared the incident on Facebook on Thursday, July 13.
According to Umoh, the couple on his street got into a verbal altercation when the lady failed to conceive again and the husband accused her of taking birth control.
“Serious fight in my street now. Husband threatened to divorce his wife if she refused to get pregnant for the 5th child. Suspecting his wife of taking contraceptives,” he wrote.
The story triggered mixed reactions on social media, with many people criticizing the husband for pressuring his wife to get pregnant again.
