“The moment you don’t have money to give, you become the worst person” – Annie Idibia laments about ‘entitled friends and family members’
Nollywood actress, Annie Idibia has taken to social media to lament about family members and friends who feel entitled to one’s money.
She expressed her dissatisfaction with how these people switch sides and begin to see one as a bad person when their requests are denied.
Annie stated this while reacting to a video about how money can destroy relationships due to high expectations and constant demands from family members and friends.
Sharing the video on her Insta-stories, she wrote:
“Dey never gonna stop and it’s harder to say no cos it’s family or that friend. Sadly, they all feel entitled. Help is good. More heartbreaking is the moment you don’t have to give. That moment you become the worst person. Then all the 20 good deeds turns to 21 bad deeds.”
In related news, Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw is not happy with people who feel entitled to other people’s money and think they get to decide what people do with their money.
The actress took to Twitter recently to tell such people to put away with the bad behaviour, while stating that people who work hard for their money deserve to spend it anyhow they please.
What does it mean to feel entitled?
A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic based on the belief that someone deserves special treatment or recognition for something they didn’t earn. In other words, people with this mindset believe that the world owes them without ever giving anything in return.
The idea is based on the belief that rich people get rich on the backs of others, did something illegal or unethical to earn it, took advantage of others, or should help others.
If you are more of a religious belief system, you believe that those who are blessed or fortunate should help those who are less fortunate. This is why people feel entitled to rich people’s money.
An entitlement in a relationship is when a partner decides that what they want is important enough to outweigh what their partner wants.
Some people may justify entitlements because of their sacrifices, uncomfortable emotions, or superior knowledge.
